A four week beginners course for those interested in learning about archery the techniques and styles of equipment. All necessary equipment provided at no additional cost.

Running from 14:00 to get kitted out and starting with the basics at around 14:15 through till approximately 16:30

The sessions are run by one or more (depending on availability and numbers of participants) of our qualified coaches and instructors and will cover:

Week 1

  • Recurve bows, arrows and other required equipment

  • Rules and safety

  • Shooting technique including stance, positioning, options for aiming

  • As many questions as you can come up with over the course of the afternoon

Week 2

  • Assembling and taking apart your own kit

  • Shooting with a sight

  • Introduction to scoring

Week 3

  • The differences in types of bow and what to look for when looking to purchase your own kit

  • Working on improvements in your preferred style of shooting either Recurve (with a sight) or Barebow (without a sight)

Week 4

  • Shooting along with the rest of the club at the club target day to get used to shooting, scoring and interacting with other archers and club members

We can cater from age ranges of six upwards but under 18's must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the session.

Booking is required as places are limited. We require a deposit in advance to secure your place, £15 per adult and £10 per child (under 18).

You can send us a cheque or pay by BACS (address or bank sort code and account number available on request). Or you can pop along one Sunday in advance at 2pm to secure your place by paying by cash or card.
