Gipping Valley Archers often abbreviated to GVA, was founded in 1998 by Maureen and Roger Hatton and used Claydon High School up until 2020. From September 2021 we now have a new outdoor venue at Stowmarket Golf Centre.

One of the clubs objectives is to promote and encourage archery in all its forms within the local community. As such we hold regular  training events and attend events locally within the community where we can provide an opportunity for all to try archery.

Our club is affiliated to the national governing body for archery in Great Britain. Archery GB is responsible for all levels of archery within the UK from elite to development level. AGBs Mission is to lead, grow and promote archery to create greater value for our sport.  Archery GB

The club has a wide range of members of all ages, shooting bowstlyes from the Traditional Longbow, Modern Recurve and Compounds as well as less common equipment such as Flatbows and Horsebows. We do not allow Crossbows.

We welcome all those interested in trying archery and would be more than happy for you to come along one Sunday to see what we do and if it is something you might be interested in taking up as a hobby. Types of Archery.

We are a social club with the emphasis being on shooting for fun rather than competitively. However we do run weekly club target days where members can work towards classification badges should they wish. We also attend as a club organised competitions throughout the year.

Recent feedback  "Just wanted to say on behalf of both of us what a welcoming environment the club has created, and we're really enjoying the atmosphere and camaraderie"
