GVA asks all its members to abide by the following Range Rules.

  • The archery range is available to use by GVA members during daylight hours within the Golf Centres normal opening times, Weekdays 8am to 7:30pm, Weekends and Bank Holidays 8am to 6pm.

  •  When any shooting is in progress there must be a minimum of two people present each being a minimum of 18 years of age, one of whom may be a non-archer to act as a lookout. The archer is responsible to inform the lookout of all safety aspects applicable.

  •  Where two adult archers are present and shooting together, they will alternate on the shooting line so that the non-shooting archer can act as the lookout.

  •  When junior archers (under 18) are shooting individually or in groups they must be supervised by an adult member of Archery GB and a second adult must be present.

  •  Solo shooting by a senior Archery GB archer or shooting with Archery GB parent/guardian with their own child(ren) is NOT permitted.

  •  The club will not use the range whist either a Red or Amber weather warning is in place for its post code IP14 3DA as issued by the UK Met Office. Yellow weather warnings will be assessed on case by case basis.

  •  Please sign the attendance book with your names and date of visit. When any shooting is in progress the range red flag must be raised and removed at the end of the shooting session.

  •  When golf ball collecting takes place on the SGC Driving Range all shooting MUST cease until collecting stops.

  •  Please remove target faces after use and any ropes used for shooting / waiting lines. You can leave the red shooting line out.
